MAGNIFYING GLASS

Today is 21 years since my mother passed away. This year is especially hard because I lost my brother earlier this year. I feel such a deep loss with both of them gone now. 💔

This morning I sat my desk and noticed my mother’s magnifying glass. As I used it to look at yet another food label, I felt a deep wave of connectedness to her. It was like she was giving me a message that everything is okay. That life sometimes gets messy and blurry, but if you pause and magnify it you can see things clearly. 🧐

This message was loud and clear. I received it. 🙏

Each time I use her magnifying glass I always feel a twinge in my heart. It is like she is giving a little poke cheering me on. I can hear her voice telling I can do this or that. My mother was my biggest cheerleader.

You see, lately I have been missing her so much. I have I so many questions for her about being a grandma. I take care of my grandson and I find myself wondering how she did this or that. I also wanted to thank her again for taking care of my kids when they were little.  She loved them and dedicated so much time to care for them. She made it possible for me to go to work and know my kids were safe, loved and well cared for.  I love my role as a grandma and it is an honor to offer my daughter the same comfort my mother gave me. 🥰

Our lives are filled with highs and lows. Many times things get blurry and it seems impossible to see things clearly. These are the moments to pause and take your magnifying glass out.

Ways to magnify during stressful times.

  • Take long deep breaths
  • Call a friend
  • Go for a walk
  • Listen to music
  • Journaling
  • Meditate

Take time today to pause and magnify anything you need to see clearly.

Love & Light
